Visit Siassi. The hidden Jewel of Morobe

Umboi island - popularly known as Siassi Island lies in the Bismarck sea, in Tewae Siassi District of Morobe Province Papua New Guinea.
There are 8 inhabited small atoll islands that together with the main Umboi island make up the Siassi group of Islands.

When visiting Siassi, the beautiful sceneries of the main island, the lakes, the rolling hills and waterfalls are some places one would not want to miss seeing.
The underwater paradise of the atoll islands brings you to the realization that an underwater heaven does exist.

Researchers who want to study underwater volcanoes can visit the Kurkur volcanic island, known as Rita island. Visits to that area is only through agreements with the Kampalap or Kabi villagers, where that island is their sacred place.

Tuam island holds one of the creatio
ns underwater treasure, a shark shelter. An underwater cave on the tip of the island provides shelter for sharks during  a specific time of the year. Underwater enthusiasts who love swimming with sharks can arrange with the Tuam Islanders for visits to the island.

Traditional art and craft, singing and dancing, and many other customs and traditions are held dear by the Siassi island islanders. They will put up spectacular performances for visitors upon requests.
